Chapter Thirteen: Suleimān replaced the children’s rhymes with Christoph’s serenade, and a softness filled the air—each note settling, then giving way—until the room held Schumann’s Die Träumerei. Suleimān bowed the lullaby’s softness and joy toward his baby brother, allowing Christoph to speak of Suleimān’s promise to Jerome.
